Lou Dutch
CyclingIn her first season in cycling (2007) Lou has recorded times of 22:02 for a 10 mile time trial and 58:35 for 25 miles. She was crowned British Police champion for 10 and 25 mile time trial, won her first Open time trial outright (beating all the men) and also finished 8th in the British time trial Championships.
Louise has a lab test every 4 months and feels it helps her assess her form and set new goals in training. Her excellent season in 2007 came as no surprise to her or her coach Phil Mosley.
David Broadhurst
David is a London stockbroker. Worried about his weight, and lacking the direction to train, he came to votwo for a lab test hoping that it would be the start of realising his desire to compete in triathlons and adventure races. After a triathlon lab test at votwo, David is now a votwo coached athlete. “The lab test and coaching from votwo gives me enough motivation and direction to enable me to train for my first triathlon. I don’t always get the time, but the training plan is flexible, and knowing that I have a coach and also that I am going back for another lab test means that there is no hiding from it. I’ve joined a triathlon club now and the weight is gradually coming off too.”
Dan Clarke
MotorsportFormer Formula Ford Festival Champion Dan Clarke came to votwo when he needed a motorsport fitness coach to help him improve his fitness for his 2nd season in the prestigious Champ Car Grand Prix series in the U.S. The athletic demands in Champ Car are similar to those in Formula 1 – fast cars, large g-forces and long, hot races. Among other things, Dan’s motorsport testing at votwo included reaction and peripheral vision testing on the Batak machine, strength testing on the Concept strength dynomometer, treadmill based blood lactate testing and a 2k Concept rowing test. Since training with Phil Mosley at votwo, Dan has seen his fitness increase, and now finds that he can make up several places in the last 15 minutes of his races, when the other drivers are starting to fatigue.
Lee Piercy
Duathlon/TriathlonLee has suffered with M.E in the past, and therefore is someone who has to be very careful with his training to avoid over-tiredness. Alongside his coach Joe Beer, Lee has utilised the votwo lab to obtain accurate heart-rate training zones, and to set sensible markers and targets to meet in his training. Because Lee could see that he was improving between lab tests, he felt more confident in his training regime, even though he was doing less training then many of his competitors. In the 2007 season he won an age-group silver medal in the European Duathlon Championships, came 4th in the World Championships and set a new course record at the Castle Combe duathlon.
Jon Allen
TriathlonAfter his first season as a triathlete Jon Allan decided to come to votwo for coaching and lab testing. In his own words: “Since I’ve started having lab testing and coaching from Votwo I’ve had a fantastic season to date - 11 events and 10 PB’s.
My racing and training has also become more focused and I’m now starting to enter some longer distance races (IM Lanzarote ’08), something that a year or so ago I’d have never dreamed of.
I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank you and the rest of your coaching team for the help and support that I’ve received.”
